India is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations. During India tour; you can see and enjoy its unique cultural and geographical features. You can also enjoy wildlife Sanctuary. In India, there are more than 80 national parks; some are big and more accessible than others. People always want to the famous wildlife sanctuaries. Though while visiting any National park we can see wildlife activity, but there is no guarantee that you would be able to big and wild animals. If you are interested in only the Big cats, I would like to share some of India’s most popular Wildlife Sanctuaries:
Jim Corbett National Park: It is located in Ramnagar in the district of Nainital, Uttarakhand. It was established in 1936.It has been a very popular and interesting place for all adventure and wildlife lover, especially for people from North India. Tourists are not allowed to have a walk inside the park. It is also pride of India. You can spot the tiger with some best luck.
How to reach: Ram Nagar is headquarter of Jim corbett Tiger Reserve. It is well connected by train route. Some train are available between Delhi and Ram Nagar. Apart from Delhi, it is also connected with other cities, like Varansi via lucknow and Allahabad via kanpur to Ramnagar. After reaching Ramnagar you can hire a taxi to reach the Park. It is also well connected by the Road with Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly, Nainital, Ranikhet, Haridwar, Dehradun and New Delhi.
Best Time to Visit: Mid-November to Mid-June.
Kaziranga National Park: It is Located in Golaghat and Nagaon districts of the state of Assam. It is also known for the largest population of Indian one-horned Rhinoceros and Tigers in the world. It is spread across 430 sq km and is home to species like Royal Bengal Tigers, Rhinoceros, Elephant, and the Asian water buffalo, Swamp Deer, Monitor Lizard and Spectacled Cobra etc.
How to reach: You can Visit Kaziranga National Park by Road , Train and Air also. The Nearest Airport is Jorhat and it is connected from Kolkata by Indian Airlines. It is connected with all the major Indian & International cities. It is also connected by road via NH 37. Guwahati airport to Kaziranga is 250 kms and Guwahati city and Railway Station is 225 kms.
Best Time to Visit: November to April.
Sundarbans National Park: It is Located in South 24 Paraganas, West Bengal, India. It is part of the Sundarban on the Ganges Delta, and adjacent to the Sundarban Reserve Forest in Bangladesh. It is one of the largest Reserves for the Bengal Tiger. In this National Park, apart from the Bengal tiger, fishing cats, leopard cats, macaques, wild bear some small animals like Indian grey mongoose, fox, jungle cat, flying fox, pangolin, chital are also found.
How to reach: You can Visit Sundarbans National Park by Road , Train and Air also. It is located almost 140 km far from Netaji Subash Chandra Bose (Dum Dum Airport) Airport Kolkata. By train the nearest railway station is Canning Railway station which is located 29 km far from the Gate way of Sundarban. By Road it is well connected with Kolkata – Basanti High way.
Best Time to Visit: September to February
Ranthambore National Park: It is located in the Sawai Madhopur district of southeastern Rajasthan. It is almost 130 km far from Jaipur and lies between Banas and the Chambal River. It is spread over an area of 392 sq km. Now a days the Ranthambore National Park is one of the most popular wildlife tourist attraction spot that has pulled the attention of many wildlife photographers and animal lovers. It is home to a large species of animals like Tigers, Leopards, Striped Hyenas, Jungle cats, Caracals etc. birds and reptiles within it. But the park is most famous for diurnal tigers.
How to reach: You can reach Ranthambore National Park By Air , Train and Road. If you want to go with Air , nearest Airport is Sanganer Airport,Jaipur. It is about 180 km far from the park. And there are regular flights for Jaipur major cities. You can take Direct taxi or bus for park. By Train : The Nearest Railway station is Sawai Madhopur Railway Station, It is about 10 km from the park. By Road: It is well connected with all the major cities and town through state bus service and it can be reached through private buses and taxis.

Kanha National Park: It is located in Madhya Pardesh, India. It has a large number of Royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, the sloth bear, Barasingha and Indian wild dog. It is is spread over an area of 940 sq km. It is also popular as being the original source of Rudyard Kipling’s imagination while writing the Jungle Book. Nearest Town: Mandla, Nearest Cities: Nagpur and Jabalpur
How to Reach: The Nearest Airport for Kanha National Park are Jabalpur 160 Kms, Raipur 250 Kms & Nagpur 300 Kms. Jabalpur is the nearest city of Kanha National Park. It is well connected by Air, Train, and Road. Jabalpur city is very well connected through trains with major cities of India like Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Lucknow, Jaipur, Agra, Varanasi, Ahmedabad etc.
Best time to Visit: October to June.
Periyar National Park: This is very popular for its diversity and natural beauty. Almost 70% area is covered by Green or rain forest. It also popular for its big snake (i.e. the Giant King Kobra) in India. It is spread over an area of 305 sq km. In this Park main Wildlife Attractions are Tiger, Nilgiri Langur, Sambar, Barking Deer,Elephants, Gaur, Wild Pigs
How to Reach: You can reach Periyar National Park by Air , Train and Road. Nearest Airport is Madurai., almost 140 km. from the Park. Nearest Railway Station is Kottayam Railway Station, which is 114 km far from the Park. Periyar National Park can be reached easily by road from major cities like Kottayam (100 km), Madurai (110 km), Kochi (120 km) and Kumily (4 km).
